The Snake Man

Once upon a time, a little girl lived with her father and his wife. The stepmother treated cruelly and forced her to do the entire difficult house work, while the wife's daughter relaxes all day. One day, the step mother scolded at the little girl so loudly because she did not bring wood for the fire yet. The stepmother ordered her to go immediately to the valley and she said" bring me wood not from the sun and not from the shadow, not curved nor straight, not dry nor wet.''
The little girl hurried crying to fulfill her cruel aunt request for where would she find fire wood with that features. If she brought something different, she would be insulted and humiliated.  A man suddenly appeared in front of her, while she was searching fire wood and asked her, "why are you crying? And what are you doing here alone near sunset?"
''My step mother forced me to bring fire wood… not from the sun nor from the shadow, not curved nor straight, and not dry nor wet.. If I did not, she will hit me.''
The man wondered and said after a moment of silence, ''I will help you gathering the fire wood and I will help you get rid of the unjust of your aunt. I will turn into snake once we finish the work and you will take me with you at the packed firewood.  When you arrived at home, say to your father: let me marry to this snake.''
'' is that possible?" yelled the girl surprisingly.
The man nodded his head in agreement and they both start gathering firewood.  Once they finished, the man turned into a snake. The girl went back home and the snake sneaked to the roof, so no one kill it. ''Father let me marry to this snake,'' said the girl.
''Marry you to the snake? Are you crazy? How can these happen?" cried the father.
"Let her marry it..Let her marry a snake.. Such a brain you have? A snake!", the stepmother laughed sarcastically.
The girl insisted until her father agreed and they got married. When the girl went to her room with snake at the evening, it turned into a man immediately. He was holing gold jewelry, pearls, and the most beautiful clothes she had ever seen. '' I want you to scream in pain as if a snake is stinging you,'' said the man to get her out of her astonishment.
The girl did as told," oh my head…oh my neck.. .oh my hand…oh my leg..."
'' sting her more…sting her more…" cried the stepmother when she heard the screams.
Night passed and morning came. '' Go and see what happened to your daughter,'' said the stepmother to the father. '' She had been screaming all night. A woman, who marries a snake, will find nothing but death.''
The father rushed to his daughter's room and opened the door. The girl was shining with gold and pearls. The father and his wife stand in astonishment. ''From where did you get all this?'' the stepmother wondered.
''My husband, the snake, brought it to me,'' the girl replied simply.
The stepmother was mad and went to her daughter. ''Go and collect firewood and bring a snake with you and ask your father to marry it to you,'' she cried at her daughter.
The daughter did not understand why until she saw her sister. Her mother urged her to go, so she went grudgingly hoping to find better things than her sister had found.
When the daughter came back, she asked her father to marry her to the snake she brought and her mother worked hard to convince him.
The daughter starts screaming in pain when she went to her room with the snake. ''Oh my head… oh my neck… oh my hand… oh my leg,'' she shouted.
''Give her more… give her more,'' said the mother laughingly.
At the morning, the rushed to her daughter's room expecting to see her covered in gold and jewels. But the daughter was lying dead poisoned by the snake's stings. The mother screamed in pain and regret.
A few days later, the little girl went to her father. '' My husband wants to leave and I will go with him wherever he goes,'' she said. ''Where will you go with that snake? Isn't it enough what happened because of him?'' said the father.
'' You agreed to this marriage and I will follow my husband wherever he goes,'' replied the girl.
The snake crawled in front of her and she followed him. The snake turned into a man again when they were far away from her village. They reached another village where she found a huge castle and they lived happily ever after.
