Khokh; the Gazelle's sister
Once upon a time there lived a man with his two boys and girls. They all grew up happily and peacefully. One morning the oldest son came to his father with a very strange request. ''I want to marry my sister khokh,'' he said. The father went mad and condemned this request. The son insisted upon it until his father was bored and agreed to his son's request. The little brother heard about this and went quickly to his sister. ''You have got married khokh!'' he said. '' What? How? Who?'' she said surprisingly.
The little brother told her what he heard. Khokh frowned and thought for a while. ''Come with me. We must stop this from happening. I want you to be with me and support me,'' she said. '' I will be with you all along but where are we going?'' he asked.
Khokh did not answer but hold his hand and walked until they reached a high mountain and climbed it. Their mother was worried when sunset came and they did not return home.  She began looking for them, Together with the father and the elder son. They saw khokh and the little brother at the peck of the mountain. '' Oh khokh come down from mountain's head,'' her father shouted.
'' You used to be my father, now you are my father-in-law,'' she replied.
'' Oh khokh come down from mountain's head,'' her elder brother shouted.
'' You used to be my brother, now you are my husband,'' she replied.
'' Oh khokh come down from mountain's head,'' her mother yelled.
'' You used to be my mother, now you are my mother-in-law,'' she replied.
They kept calling her and she refuses until they were disparate and left. She came down the mountain with her little brother and kept walking until they reached another village.
They were thirsty. They found an old woman sitting on a rock by the road side. '' Is there any water near this place?'' khokh asked her.
'' There is a lack in that direction,'' she answered pointing toward a spot between distant trees. ''But who drinks first must hold the other's head or he or she will turn into a gazelle!''
Khokh and her brother wondered from this condition but it was easy and they were thirsty. So they went to the lack. Khokh drank first and her brother held her head. Then he drank and she held his head. Her foot slipped and she let go of her brother's head. Immediately, her brother turned into a gazelle.
'' My brother…my brother,'' she yelled in fear, crying.
'' Not your brother, the gazelles brother… not your brother, the gazelles brother,'' he answered her.
Khokh was bewildered. She did not know what to do or where to go. Finally, she held her brother and walked and walked until they reached a Sidra (kind of trees). Water was running under the Sidra on a falaje channel. She climbed the tree and ate some fruit and threw some to her brother. At that time, the sultan's son came with his soldiers to drink some water. The soldiers tried to hunt the gazelle when they saw it. Khokh was frightened. She climbed down and stand in front of the gazelle to stop them from hurting it. '' Don't shot the gazelle, don't shot the gazelle,'' she yelled.
The sultan's son heard the noises and saw khokh crying and the gazelle shacking in her hand. He ordered his soldiers to leave the gazelle and go to their works. ''You and your gazelle are safe. You can stay here as long as you want,'' he said to khokh.
Khokh sighed deeply and thanked him. She stayed close to the Sidra holding the gazelle as if she is scared someone will attack it. She felt relaxed when the sultan's son left with his soldiers.
The sultan's son kept thinking about her and the gazelle. He remembered suddenly that he had forgetting his stick near the falaje. So he told his soldier to go ahead and he will follow them after he brings his stick. They offered to go instead of him but he insisted to go by himself.
He saw khokh waking away with her gazelle and he stood in front of them. They were scared. '' Don't be scared. I swear no one will harm you. I want you to come with me instead of staying here by yourself,'' he said.
''And my gazelle,'' khokh hesitated. '' It will come with us too,'' he said smiling.
She rode behind him at the horse and the gazelle ran after them. A few days after they reached the palace, the sultan's son asked his father to marry him to khokh. The father disclaimed this request but his insisted. They got married and lived happily. They had a beautiful baby a year later. All the time, khokh took care of the gazelle and let her son plays with it. He husband knew there was a secret behind the gazelle and waited for an opportunity to ask her.
One day, there came gests to the sultans and the son suggested cooking the gazelle for them. '' What do you say khokh?'' he asked her to test her.
'' On, please. Don't hurt it. He is not a gazelle. He is my brother,'' she cried in panic.
The sultan and his son were astonished. Khokh told them her story. '' Can you recognize that old women if you saw her?'' he asked.
'' Yes, I can,'' she replied. '' But how can we find her? I don't know anything about her."
'' I have a plan,'' he said
Next day, the palace announcer announced that the sultan is having a three-day feast and everyone is invited to come. No one is excused old or young, man or women.
People came and khokh searched for the old women amongst them. She saw her coming on the third day and pointed her out to her husband. He towards the villagers taking to them and hear their stories. When he was near the old women, he asked her to tell him some of her stories of old days and the wonders she had seen. The old women chatted with him; enjoying herself. Until, she mentioned khokh and her brother's story.
''What happened to them?'' he asked her.
'' I don’t know. The girl was walking and crying and the gazelle jumping behind her. Perhaps he was hunted,'' she said.
''Perhaps. But what would be the cure if he was alive?''
'' Rub him with my brain. I don’t think he is still alive any way.'' She laughed.
'' What are you saying. May nothing harm you.''
'' It is time to go home. I stayed here for a long time,'' she said, getting up.
"I enjoyed your conversation and I want to reward you. I will send mu soldiers to accompany you to your house. It too late and a difficult trip for an old lady,'' said the sultan's son.
'' Oh there is no need for that,'' she replied.
The sultan's son ordered his soldiers to supply the woman with food and clothes and take her to her house. ''Take this witch to the desert and kill her and come back with her head and the convoy,'' He said to the commander of the convoy secretly.
Few hours later, the soldiers came back wither head. The sultan's son ordered them to rub the gazelle with her brain. Immediately, he turned into a human again and khokh rushed to him hugging him and crying.
